What is the eligibility for Secondary (Class X) admission?
For Secondary (Class X) admission, the minimum age is 14 years as on 31st July of the admission year. The student must have passed Class 8 from any recognized school. There is no upper age limit for admission.
What documents are required for admission?
Required documents include: Aadhaar Card, 4 passport size photographs, previous class marksheet, birth certificate, residence proof, and caste certificate (if applicable for scholarship).
Can I take admission throughout the year?
GSOS offers flexible admission. The main admission window is from June to August. However, students can also apply in the January cycle. Check the admission notification for exact dates.
Is there any entrance exam for admission?
No, there is no entrance exam for admission to GSOS. Admission is direct based on fulfilling the eligibility criteria and submission of required documents.

How many times are exams conducted in a year?
GSOS conducts examinations twice a year. Additionally, students can avail the On-Demand Examination (ODE) facility to appear for exams when they feel prepared.
What is the passing criteria for exams?
Students must score a minimum of 33% marks in each subject (theory and practical separately where applicable) to pass. Students failing in 1-2 subjects can appear for improvement exams.
How do I apply for the examination form?
Examination forms can be filled online through the GSOS student portal. You need to log in with your enrollment number, select subjects, and pay the examination fee online.
Where are the examination centers located?
Examination centers are located across all 33 districts of Gujarat. Students can choose their preferred exam center during the examination form submission. Centers are usually at GSOS-affiliated study centers or schools.

How can I check my result?
Results are published on the official GSOS website. You can check your result by entering your enrollment number and date of birth on the result portal. Results are also communicated through SMS and email.
When are results usually declared?
Results are typically declared within 45-60 days after the completion of examinations. The exact date is announced on the official website and through notifications.
How do I get my original marksheet?
Original marksheet is sent to your registered study center after result declaration. You can collect it from there. Alternatively, you can request home delivery by paying postal charges.
Fees Related
What is the total fee for Secondary program?
The approximate total fee for Secondary (Class X) is ₹6,000 which includes registration fee (₹500), course fee (₹2,500/year), and exam fee for 5 subjects (₹600 per subject). Study material is included free of cost.
Are there any scholarships available?
Yes, SC/ST/OBC students can avail scholarship benefits as per Gujarat Government norms. EWS students may also apply for fee concessions. Relevant certificates must be submitted during admission.
Is the fee refundable if I cancel admission?
Fee once paid is generally non-refundable. However, in cases where the board cancels the admission or program, fees may be refunded as per the board's refund policy.

Is GSOS certificate valid for government jobs?
Yes, GSOS certificates are recognized by the Government of Gujarat and COBSE. They are valid for government jobs, private employment, and higher education, subject to the policies of the concerned institution or employer.
Can I transfer from another board to GSOS?
Yes, students from other recognized boards can transfer to GSOS. You need to submit your previous marksheet and a transfer certificate. Credit transfer may be available for completed subjects.
How many study centers does GSOS have?

What is the medium of instruction?
GSOS offers study materials and examinations in Gujarati, English, and Hindi mediums. Students can choose their preferred medium during admission.
